| GO-cards are the electronic bus tickets of Queensland. Instead of buying your ticket from the driver the old school way, you now buy a card from the nearest newsagency or 7-11 (located within 150 metres of Moorings on Cavill). Keep in mind the cards alone are $10 for adults and $5 for children, this does not include any credit for transport fares. You must then ADD money to the card when you buy it or at stations or ask the bus driver. So if you are only making 1 trip during your stay = NOT worth it. If you are travelling to all the attractions and shopping centres GO cards = BIG savings!! The cost of fares are minimum 30% cheaper than paper tickets and up to 50% cheaper during off-peak periods. |  |
Keep in mind you CAN get unused credit refunded but not all retailers who sell GO cards will refund credit and therefore you have to fill an online form out and wait for the process. Fear not!
