The enchanted wonderland of Sand Safari is an annual event in Surfers Paradise.It goes for over three weeks the Sand Safari will include the usual favourites; Kung Fu Panda and all his Dreamworks friends carved in large sand sculptures at the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships. It is located on the foreshore of Surfers Paradise and now named the Gold Coast Sand Trail. Here you will see exciting brand new elements including Sand and Sea themed sculpture and photography exhibitions. Sand Safari is an incredible event and a great outing with fun and art for all ages!

Annual events include Sand Trail (5 to 28 February), National Sculpture Competition Exhibition (5 to 28 February), Live on-site Sculpting (6 to 11 February), National Art Competition (6 to 28 February), Photography Competition (6 to 28 February), Schools Art Competition (6 to 28 February), Australian Sand Sculpting Championships (12 to 28 February).

Marcos on Cavill

Walk out front door of Moorings on Cavill in front of Tiki Village . Don't go up Beach Road where the Gold Coast Bus Terminal 4217 is located but walk directly up Cavill Avenue. Marcos on Cavill is approx 100 metres on left side. Walk past Melbas on the Park and past the big office block Fifty Cavill Avenue. Speak with Marco himself and tell him you are staying at the Mooring on Cavill - His pizzas are great!!!

Helm Bar

Turn right outside the Moorings on Cavill apartments and walk along the nerang river walkway for 50 metres in front of the river cruise boats Wyndham Cruises and Bluewater Cruises. The Helm bar is close to where the Surfers Paradise Jet Boats leave from .On the right see Circle on Cavill and the Renaissance apartments that are managed by the Mantra group.

Melbas on the Park

We are only 150 metres from this famous restaurant and bar. Make sure you call in for a quick drink or a long lunch or dinner. Melbas has been established for over 25 years and is frequented by the local people.We often eat there so try to make sure you eat there also.

There are several restaurants and bars located inside the main The 4217 Surfers Paradise BusTerminal. Walk out front door of Moorings on Cavill and turn left and then right onto the Gold Coast Highway. Walk toward Beach Road past Fifty Cavill Avenue ,Tiki Village and Avalon Apartments. The 4217 is located on Beach Road opposite the Surfers Paradise Bowls Club. This is a the trendy place to go just 50 metres away from the Moorings on Cavill.
